Network of Women in Computer Technology's mission is to advance careers for professionals in Information Technology through education, mentoring, and providing outstanding professional networking opportunities.

2010 MENTOR PROGRAM MISSION

 

To provide a safe and confidential environment for member participants to discuss career challenges and objectives, and collaboratively build strategies that help move through and forward to yield personal growth.

 

2010 MENTOR PROGRAM PILOT STRATEGY

 

Organize small geographic groups led by a qualified facilitator, with a commitment to meet monthly for 3 months for the benefit of participants, and with a secondary objective to provide feedback to the organization for program sustainability and possible expansion.

 

- BASICS:
--- Pilot program free to members only
--- Pilot program to meet for 3 group sessions
--- Meetings to take place monthly for 1½ hours

--- Be cognizant of time and location constraints of members

--- Group confidentiality

--- Career support group
--- Discussions could involve any of the following related to a professional situation:  career path, work environment, issues, questions, concerns, specific challenges &/or barriers, etc.

--- Work through career or workplace issues, challenges, and concerns

--- Broaden business, industry or functional perspective & contacts
--- Develop innovative and creative ideas to apply in the workplace
